Post Traumatic Stress

These disturbances are the equivalent of war hero getting flashbacks of traumas from the battlefield. At a time of survival, expression needs are sacrificed. Sitting down and crying in the middle of the battlefield because your friends have been killed is anti-survival in that moment. The automatic dissociation mechanisms take over and shut the feelings off in order to maximise the potential of surviving the moment. Later, once the war veteran feels safe enough, the same automatic mechanisms that switched off the relationship to the feelings, offer an opportunity to bring some healing to those feelings. The trauma is re-presented in the form of dreaming processes, often called flashbacks. When dealt with by a holistic doctor, the war hero will be given the opportunity to express whatever needs expressing in as sensitive an environment as possible, which will allow him to develop a healthy relationship to his Post Traumatic Stress. When offered this, he is unlikely to develop a Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Your ability to notice your own signals of disturbance (healing trying to happen) marks the beginning of your ability to practically, and self-evidently bring healing to very young (methodologically) parts of yourself that only have their 'disturbing' behaviour to show you that they need your adult (‘associated’ and ‘ sensitive’) help.
